Join some of the city’s most talented young actors and filmmakers for an unforgettable experience this winter. You can be part of a studio and create an original short film. Our Film Conservatory is led by working professionals of the arts with years experience in arts education.

Students work together to create an ORIGINAL SHORT FILM that is conceptualized, scripted and put through all of the steps of a professional production by the students themselves. Filmmakers will learn scripting, film directing and composition technique; partake in acting and camera exercises; and learn special effects that pertain to the movie they make.

Filmmakers get the opportunity to work with professional equipment; including top-end cameras, lighting and sound, and green screens. Filmmakers edit their film with Final Cut Pro, using professional editing software such as Motion and LiveType.

Filmmakers work with professional NYC actors, including submitting casting calls to trade publications and holding auditions. Students often remark that working with professional actors is one of the most rewarding aspects of the filmmaking process.
