Summer Magic Camp 2010, grades K-6                                         Enrollment now open

Ages 5-11, Grade Level: Elementary School

A kids' production truly like no other...Summer Magic Camp campers create together, telling a story equally through three different art forms: Theater, Music and Film.

Kids brainstorm ideas for their musical, and then decide which story elements to communicate through film, theater or song. From character conception to their final stage performance, children develop creativity in a supportive, comfortable environment. The creative experience culminates in a fully staged musical show and professionally produced film that is the centerpiece of Summer Magic Camp 2010.

Children spend time outdoors every day, exploring nearby parks, enjoying water play in our playground, joining in sports and cooperative games designed to encourage team spirit. From family potluck picnics to our end-of-term performances, the whole family will share your child's unforgettable Summer Magic 2010 experience.

Working with Imagine Me’s professional artists, even our youngest campers will experience all aspects of creating an original digital film, from storyboarding and character development, to using special effects, text animation, and music. Imagine Me teams up with Kids Creative and teaching professionals from 87 Afterschool to provide this truly unique summer camp-- where the magic is untapped from every child’s imagination!

Shooting Stars Winter Film Conservatory 2010-2011     Enrollment opens September 2010

in partnership with 87 Afterschool Program

Ages 11-18, Grade Level: Middle and High School

Imagine Me’s Film Conservatory for middle and high school students is a multiple award-winning program. Films created in this program have taken multiple film festival awards nationwide, and continue to be honored by the Tribeca Film Festival.

Students create an original film while learning professional film techniques, with professional equipment.

An ORIGINAL SHORT FILM is conceptualized, scripted and put through all of the steps of a professional production by the students themselves. Filmmakers learn scripting techniques, acting and camera exercises, and special effects that pertain to the movie they make. Students audition and hire professional actors from the NYC scene, helping them to hone their directing talents beyond the camera.

Film makers get the opportunity to work with professional equipment; including top-end cameras, lighting and sound, and green screens.

Students will edit their movie with Final Cut Pro, and learn to use professional editing software such as Motion and LiveType.

Shooting Stars Film Conservatory is currently offered through a partnership with PS87 Afterschool program.
